TPWODL Strengthens Power Infrastructure in Sambalpur and Jharsuguda Districts

Burla/Sambalpur, July 03, 2025: TP Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL), a joint venture between Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, continues to take significant steps in enhancing power infrastructure and improving service reliability across Western Odisha. In line with its commitment to provide uninterrupted and quality power supply, TPWODL has successfully upgraded and installed three Distribution Transformers (DTRs) in the districts of Sambalpur and Jharsuguda.

Under this initiative, the existing DTRs in Pansapada and Salepada villages of Rengali Block in Sambalpur district have been upgraded from 16 KVA to 25 KVA. This capacity enhancement is aimed at strengthening the local power distribution system, ensuring a stable and reliable electricity supply to the consumers in these areas. The project is expected to reduce issues related to low voltage, tripping, and power outages significantly, thereby enhancing overall service quality.

In another tactical intervention, TPWODL has installed an additional 250 KVA DTR at Telipada village in Jharsuguda district to address the overloading on the existing 500 KVA DTR at Badmal Biju Chowk. This has been under taken to balance the load, reduce the risk of equipment failure, and support future increase in power demand, especially for nearly 100 consumers in the village.

Speaking on the development, Mr. Parveen Verma, CEO, TPWODL stated, “We are continuously working to upgrade and modernize the distribution infrastructure in our licensed areas. These recent upgradations reflect our proactive approach to improve service delivery, ensuring consumer satisfaction, and meeting the growing power needs of rural and semi-urban communities.”
