Bhubaneswar, Oct. 1: With the objective of turning its campus green, a tree plantation program was undertaken in the premises of the stadium of SOA Deemed to be University here on Thursday to mark the NSS Day.
The program, organised by SOA’s School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPS), focused on the slogan ‘Ek Ped Ma Ke Naam’ to create awareness among the young generation about the issue of protection of environment.
Mr. Ajit Kumar Kushwah, Regional Director of NSS, inaugurated the event which was also attended by Prof. Debajyoti Das, Dean of SPS and Dr. Kamal Lochan Mahanta, Program Coordinator of NSS at SOA Deemed to be University. Mr. Kushwah exhorted the student participants to work for protection of environment and help in plantation of trees.
He urged each person to plant at least one tree and take care of it.
Prof. Pratap Kumar Sahu, Deputy Dean of SPS, Prof. Sudhir Kumar Paidisati, Dr. Rudra Narayan Sahu, Class Coordinator and Dr. Rakesh Swain, NSS Program Officer, were present.
