WODC Chairman visits Sambalpur

Bhubaneswar/Sambalpur (Kalinga Voice) : Chairman,WODC Sri Asit Tripathy today visited the Village Sahajbal of Dhankauda Block in Sambalpur District & interacted with the newly formed Terakota Producers Group. 40 numbers of WSHG have been imparted training by ORMAS. Chairman interacted with the WSHGs who have procured machines for different designs of their product & enquired from them regarding Market linkage and overall profit distribution amongst the members and it’s sustainability. Collector, Sambalpur was advised for branding of their varieties of good quality products & tie up with marketing agencies for online transactions for lucrative returns.

Chairman, WODC also visited the dragon fruit cultivation field of one Murli Krishna of Karnapalli village of Dhankota Block of Sambalpur District,who has been asked to go ahead under MKUY. The agri- entrepreneur has invested Rs.1 cr. Subsidy of Rs40,000/- is there for the said farm which is yet to be released.Interacting with the agri- entrepreneur, Chairman assured to take up the matter for release of his entitled subsidy amount at the earliest.The farmer revealed that he will get the return of his investment in next 3 years. His fruits are hot cakes in Sambalpur,Bhubaneswar, Cuttack & Raipur markets.This is a more remunerative crop, which is being encouraged by Hon’ble CM under new Agricultural Policy.

    Chairman, WODC visited Pisciculture Tanks of Murli Krishna of Karnapalli village of Dhankota Block of Sambalpur District under MKUY. The agri- entrepreneur has invested Rs.1 Cr. in an integrated farming approach by making 6 big tanks & 10 fingerling tanks.Interacting with the agri- entrepreneur, Chairman sensitized the District Fishery Officer to form a group of such entrepreneurs and interact  with them to sort out their problems, if any. This is a more remunerative business, which is being encouraged by Hon’ble CM for encashing the potentials for inland Pisci Culture farmers, Sri Tripathy said during his visit.

Chairman, WODC today during his visit to Sambalpur also inspected the site for proposed construction of Commercial cum Office Complex,6 storied IDCO Tower at Burla adjoining to NH 53 . Boundary wall construction work is going on in 2.5 acres of land.

Chairman, WODC today during his visit to Sambalpur District went to the the site for proposed waterbody development, park,amusement center,foot court,boating in a 15 acres of land at Durgalli as per the DPR submitted by SMC with an estimated cost of Rs8.50 cr. Chairman advised the Collector to relook the project from the public utility angle  from the core point of Sambalpur city.Chairman, WODC today during his visit to Sambalpur District went to the the proposed 1000 seater convention center in about 3 acres of land near SBI,Sambalpur.  The team showed several patches of land in SMC area.Finally the patch of land near SBI is found to be more suitable for this project.Collector & the Municipal Commissioner were advised to make the land encroachment free and submit the DPR to WODC for sanction of fund to tune of Rs 10 cr.

Chairman, WODC today during his visit to Sambalpur District visited Samaleswari View Point & supervised the ongoing works. Collector & Municipal Commissioner apprised the progress of excavation and subsequent items of work as per the DPR.

Chairman, WODC today during his visit to Sambalpur District went to the proposed site for eco – Park development at Kuluthkani. Interacted with Karikeswar Meher, President of Kuluthkani Nagarika Sangha & other members,who requested for development of this area in view of the adjoining river, water body &existing flora & fauna. Collector & Municipal Commissioner, SMC were advised to submit a proposal to this effect with weed cleaning & land development for sanction of funds from WODC.
