WODC Chairman’s two-day visit to Balangir

Inspects developmentalschemes, Lays foundation for new projects

Bhubaneswar: Principal Advisor to the Hon’ble CM and Chairman Western Odisha Development Council Shri Asit Tripathi today visited Balangir District and inaugurated the Milk Cooling Plant at Deogaon. 1.56 crores have been provided by the Council. The capacity of the plant launched at Deogaon will be increased to 5,000 liters from 2500 liters in the coming days. On this occasion, Mr. Tripathi gave incentives to 10 successful dairy farmers. Later, Mr. Tripathi discussed with the people of Bankel village of Balangir district and enquired about  various problems of the displaced persons of the Central Irrigation project and received complaint letters. He said that he would take steps to solve their problems according to the budget system. He highlighted the various developmental activities of the Western Odisha Development Council. On this occasion, Mr. Tripathi discussed with the of Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana of the Odisha Government. On the second day of his visit to the district of Balangir, shri  Tripathi laid the foundation stone of the new Kalyan Mandap to be built at a cost of Rs. Shri Tripathi said that steps are being taken to complete about 1,600 Kalyan Mandaps which were incomplete in the past years from the funds of West Odisha Development Council. In this meeting organized by Shri Hans Raj Jain, expert member of WODC, all Sarpanch and Samiti members of Muribahal block were felicitated. Along with this, Shri Tripathi visited the Onion Godown constructed with the help of the WODC of RMC Kantabanjhi and the bridge built over the canals of Gadiajore. In the previous evening Shri Tripathi presented a hearse and a mortuary freezer to the Balangir District Press Association and the Welfare Council and later attended the Balangir District Hotel Association Annual Summit. Shri Tripathi called for development of hotel industry by utilizing the tourism infrastructure of Balangir district. On the occasion of this visit, Balangir District Magistrate Shri Chanchal Rana, WODC Chief Executive Officer Dr. Ajit Kumar Mishra, TCShri Sunil Naik, Balangir Kalahandi Nuapada Milk Producers Federation Chairman Ms Seema Patel HRAO Chairman Shri JK Mohanty and other officials were present.
