Women Reservation bill – Suparno suggests better

New Delhi(18/04/26): PM Shri Narendra Modi and the MPs are busy discussing Women Reservation Bill aka Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam 106th Amendment Act ‘23 & subsequent ‘26 amendments. Noted socio-political leader and Chairman SNSMT Shri. Suparno Satpathy has suggested a simple and a much more effective method to ensure more representation of women in the Parliament of India. An Instagram post put out by Smt. Nandini Satpathy Memorial Trust @SNSMT has gone viral. Shri. Suparno Satpathy in a video message is seen suggesting that it should be made compulsory for every political party to field a minimum of 50% of their election candidates as women.

He further has suggested that if a political party doesn’t comply to 50% women candidates, the Election Commission of India should be given the authority to de- recognise that party and bar that political party from contesting elections.
A fairly large number of People have liked and shared the said viral post. Social media users have tagged several positions of power including President and PM of India as well as the Law Minister of India.
