- Gen Z Extends Overwhelming Support to Naveen Patnaik
- Student Union Election Results Are Just the Beginning
- Ruling BJP Failed to Stop Gen Z Despite Extensive Conspiracies
Bhubaneswar, 16/10/2026: “The Biju Chhatra Janata Dal (BCJD) has received overwhelming support across the State in the student union elections.” At a press conference held today at SankhaBhawan, BijuChhatraJanata Dal President IpsitaSahoo, Media Coordinator Dr. Lenin Mohanty and Senior Vice-President of BijuChhatraJanata Dal SoumyaRanjanMahapatra thanked the students for their support.
Dr. Lenin Mohanty stated that students had extended overwhelming support to the BJD in the student union elections. This has proved the affection of Gen Z towards former Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik. Students will never forget the revolutionary transformation brought about in the education sector in Odisha during Naveen Patnaik’s tenure as Chief Minister. The responsibility of leading the BijuChhatraJanata Dal was entrusted to a student leader like IpsitaSahoo, who discharged her responsibilities effectively and led BCJD to victory in the elections. The party thanked all students who extended their overwhelming support to the BJD and congratulated the winning candidates.
Despite extensively misusing government machinery and power to influence the student union elections in its favour, the BJP government failed to secure the support of students. The Chief Minister desperately needed a victory at Rama Devi Women’s University, but Gen Z did not allow that to happen. Similarly, BCJD registered major victories in the districts of both Deputy Chief Ministers. The people of Odisha have now clearly understood the false promises through which the BJP formed the government in the State.Student union elections were held in 286 colleges across the State, of which the BJD emerged victorious in 170 colleges. However, Law Minister Shri PrithvirajHarichandan is presenting false information. The BJP is unable to accept its defeat. The BJP government must stop lying to Gen Z. This victory is only the beginning.
IpsitaSahoo stated that students had extended overwhelming support to the BJD in the student union elections, which the BJP has been unable to accept easily. The BJD has emerged victorious in more than 60 per cent of colleges across the State. However, the Deputy Chief Ministers, Ministers and other leaders of the ruling party are spreading false claims that the ABVP has won in 80 per cent of colleges in the State. If the BJP government has the courage, it should accept the truth and present the actual figures.
Despite deploying government machinery and power, the BJP failed to win the student union elections. Gen Z has rejected the BJP and extended its support to former Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik. The BJP government hatched several conspiracies to influence the student union elections in its favour and even caused considerable delays in the declaration of results. However, the government machinery and power proved ineffective before Gen Z. ABVP candidates suffered defeats in the areas represented by the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Ministers, State BJP President, YuvaMorcha President, Ministers and other leaders.
Shri SoumyaRanjanMahapatra stated that all the conspiracies of the government had failed and BCJD candidates had registered overwhelming victories. The BJP government adopted completely undemocratic methods to influence the student union elections in its favour. Despite these attempts, all its conspiracies failed. Attempts to steal candidates and rig votes were unsuccessful. Gen Z stood with former Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik and will continue to stand with him in the future.
