Bhubaneswar, 17/10: Hindalco Industries Ltd., Aditya Birla Group, Managing Director, Mr Satish Pai visited the Meenakshi Coal Mines to review its ongoing operations and community development initiatives. As part of the visit, Mr. Pai visited Kiripsira Panchayat in Sundargarh district to assess various CSR activities being implemented by the company.
Under Hindalco’s strong commitment to social responsibility, several skill-based livelihood and women empowerment programmes have been launched across the region. During his visit, Mr. Pai reviewed the progress of these initiatives and inaugurated new development projects aimed at enhancing community welfare.
Accompanying him were his spouse Mrs. Vanvimone Pai, Mr. Kailash Pandey, Business Head Mines & Sambalpur Cluster, Mr. Bijesh Jha, Head – Bauxite & Coal, and Mr. Krishna Padhi, Cluster Head, Human Resources, among others.
As part of the CSR outreach, Mr. Pai inaugurated a Silk fibre handicraft Training to promote self-reliance among local women. He also distributed desk benches to nearby schools to support better learning environments for students. In addition, school bags were distributed to children enrolled in local Anganwadi Centres.
Under the company’s “Nikshay” CSR initiative, food kits were distributed to the families of TB patients, further reinforcing Hindalco’s commitment to community health and well-being.
The event witnessed the presence of Mrs. Kunti Pradhan, President, Sundargarh Zilla Parishad; Mrs. Rebati Chatria, Sarpanch, Kiripsira Panchayat; and local administrative officials. The entire visit and associated programmes were coordinated by Ms. Niharika Sahoo, CSR Head; under the direct supervision of Mr. Mukesh Jha, Meenakshi Coal Mines Unit Head.
