Bhubaneswar, November 5: A 20-member high-level Israeli delegation, visiting India under the India Trek for Global Leaders programme, visited KIIT and KISS today. The delegation toured various campuses of KIIT and visited several units of KISS. The delegation included several distinguished Israelis from diverse fields, including education, healthcare, research, banking, and information technology.

The members were already familiar with the contributions of KIIT, KISS and their Founder, Dr. Achyuta Samanta, particularly his lifelong commitment to social development through education. During their visit today, they were deeply impressed by the scale, infrastructure and achievements of both institutions.

Addressing nearly 40,000 KISS students at a felicitation programme organised in their honour, the delegates observed that a visionary individual, driven by strong determination and willpower, could create a world-class institution like KISS. They remarked that while many people across the world have good ideas and ambitious dreams, only a few possess the ability and determination to translate those dreams into reality. Dr. Achyuta Samanta was a remarkable example of such a visionary, they added.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to education, humanitarian service and the empowerment of disadvantaged communities, Dr. Samanta was felicitated by the Harvard Club of Israel and the high-level Israeli delegation. The guests highly appreciated his vision, dedication and lifelong commitment to serving humanity.

The delegation is visiting India with the approval of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, which is also bearing the entire cost of their visit. During the 12-day programme, the delegates are scheduled to explore Odisha’s rich art, culture, heritage and tourist attractions.

During their stay at KIIT and KISS, they will also participate in knowledge-exchange programmes and interact with students and faculty members of the institutions. Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS, welcomed the delegates, while Prof. Saranjit Singh, Vice-Chancellor (Acting), KISS Deemed to be University, proposed the vote of thanks. Among others, senior functionaries of KIIT and KISS were present on the occasion.
