Athletes from Odisha AM/NS India Gymnastics High Performance Centre and Grassroot centres shine at 44th Odisha State Gymnastics Championship
~35 Gold, 34 Silver, and 33 Bronze medals across various competitions~
Bhubaneswar, February03, 2026: Athletes from the Odisha AM/NS India Gymnastics High Performance Centre (HPC) along with its grassroot centres in Rourkela, Puri, and Jeypore, represented various districts of Odisha as theytook part across multiple age groups and categories in both Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) and Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) at the 44th Odisha State Gymnastics Championshipheld in Puri. The contingent collectively won 102 medals with 35 Gold, 34 Silver, and 33 Bronze medals across various competitions reflecting the steady growth of gymnastics across the state through high-performance and grassroots development.
The HPC featured a strong lineup of 45 athletes, comprising 24 Senior, Junior, and Sub-Junior athletes in the men’s category and 21 Senior, Junior, and Sub-Junior athletes in the women’s category, competing across various segments with consistency and depth. Their participation showcased HPC’s role as a key driver of high-performance gymnastics in Odisha.
At the grassroots level, Rourkela participated with 7 athletes in the MAG U-10 and U-12 categories and an impressive 13 athletesin the WAG U-14 category, showcasing growing female participation. Puri recorded one of the highest grassroot centre turnouts, with 22 athletes across MAG U-10, U-12, and U-14 and 13 athletesin WAG U-10 and U-14, reflecting a robust training structure at the centre. Jeypore, though smaller in numbers, demonstrated emerging potential with 2 athletes in MAG U-10 and U-12 and 2 athletesin WAG U-10 and U-12.
