Smt. Nita Ambani details Reliance Foundation’s initiatives at RIL AGM

Mumbai: As Reliance Foundation entered 16th year of service to India, Smt. Nita Ambani, Founder and Chairperson, Reliance Foundation presented ongoing and upcoming initiatives in various domains. Detailing various initiatives, she said that over 97 million Indians have been touched across every single state, by Reliance Foundation, which works in nearly one lakh villages – almost one in every six villages of India – running health camps, empowering women, restoring ecosystems, training farmers on digital and AI tools, offering disaster relief, and rebuilding lives. “Sixteen years ago, we made a commitment to our nation. Ninety-seven million lives later, that commitment has only grown deeper, stronger, and more urgent”, she added.

In the financial year 2026, total CSR spending of Reliance stood at Rs 2,248 crore, the highest by a single Indian company.

Reliance Foundation received approval from the Government of Maharashtra to establish a State Private University, with interim campus at Ulwe already operational with modern academic, residential, and sports facilities. Its permanent campus at Dronagiri, spread across 410 acres, will include an Academic District, Research Park, Sports District, Medicity, Arts District, and an Innovation and Incubation Park for unicorn creation. Seven world-class schools with a focus on AI and emerging technologies: Engineering & Computing, Management & Entrepreneurship, Law & Governance, Humanities & Social Sciences, Medical Science & Public Health, Architecture & Urban Planning, and Education.

“In line with the vision for Viksit Bharat, our university will help Mumbai transform into a Knowledge City, and Bharat into a Gyan Bhoomi – a Knowledge Power”, said Mrs. Ambani.

As Vantara marks its first anniversary, foundation stone has been laid for Vantara University – dedicated to training the next generation of wildlife conservationists and veterinary scientists. Speaking on Vantara and Wildlife conservation efforts Nita Ambani said “What our youngest son Anant has built in Jamnagar is not merely a sanctuary. It is India’s – in fact one of the world’s – largest effort in wildlife conservation, rescue, and rehabilitation.” More than 1.5 lakh rescued, injured, orphaned, and endangered animals have found a safe, loving, and healing home and a life of dignity. At Vantara, we live by the sacred belief Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – the world is one family.”

Through the Education and Sports for All programme, Reliance Foundation has reached more than 29 million young children and youth across the country. Reliance Foundation athletes won 386 national and international medals this year. Focus: archery, athletics, boxing, shooting, wrestling, and badminton.

“As an IOC Member and a proud Indian, I carry a dream very close to my heart – a dream shared by over 1.4 billion Indians – to bring the Olympic Games to India. Truly an Olympics that the world will never forget.”, she added.

Reliance Foundation plans to modernise Seven Hills Hospital in Mumbai, with a planned capacity of 1,500 beds, leading in clinical research, cancer care, emergency and trauma, organ transplantation, and neuro-degenerative disorders (Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s). More than 450 beds dedicated to economically weaker sections.

“For us, this is much more than a hospital. It is the beginning of a truly integrated medical hub in the heart of Mumbai”, she said.

On the Coastal Road Gardens, Mumbai, Smt. Nita Ambani said “What Central Park is to New York, Hyde Park to London, and the Botanic Gardens to Singapore, we hope the Coastal Road Gardens will be to Mumbai.”

Initial work commenced; 15,000 trees already on site. The 130-acre Coastal Road Gardens will be home to more than 60,000 trees, creating a vast new green lung for Mumbai. It features: shaded walking and cycling paths, open maidans, public gyms, children’s play areas, a tree museum, sports facilities, and vibrant spaces for arts and culture.

Through various initiatives spanning Women Empowerment, Livelihoods & Rural Transformation, one million women entrepreneurs have empowered and nearly 2 lakh young Indians were helped to gain employment and over 23 million people reached for rural transformation.

“Rashtra Seva, motivated by Rashtra Bhakti, should become a Rashtriya Abhiyan. This is the calling of every single Indian”, said Smt. Nita Ambani, addressing at the 49th AGM of Reliance Industries Ltd.
