Jharsuguda, Date: 23/04/2026: English Language Day and World Book Day were celebrated at the DAV Public School campus.
In a meeting held under the chairmanship of the school Principal Laxmi kanta Debta, floral tributes were offered to the portrait of the legendary English poet, novelist, and writer William Shakespeare.
In his welcome address, Mr. Debta spoke about the global significance of English literature, its popularity, accessibility, vast scope, international demand, and the importance of book reading habits. Senior English teacher Alekh Bihari Sahoo expressed his views on the objectives of celebrating English Language Day and World Book Day.
Teachers Sukanya Mahapatra and Anamika Rani coordinated the programme and organized various entertaining activities for the teaching staff. Teachers Pabitra Mohan Kabi, Premananda Mahana, S.K. Seraj, Nityananda Sahu and other departmental teachers extended their cooperation in organizing the event. Finally, teacher Padmasan Sahu proposed the vote of thanks.
