GRADUATION DAY 2026 HELD FOR SOA ITER STUDENTS

Bhubaneswar, Oct. 7: A two-day graduation program for students of the Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), faculty of engineering and technology of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) Deemed to be University here, held to confer degrees on students of 2026 graduating batch who successfully completed their B.Tech, M.Tech, BCA, MCA and M.Sc. programmes, concluded on Tuesday.
On the first day on Monday, degrees were conferred on B.Tech students of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department of 2022-26 academic session who completed their programme. On the second day, degrees were awarded to students completing B.Tech programme in Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science), Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security), Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning), Computer Science and Engineering (Internet of Things).
Post Graduate students completing courses in Master of Computer Applications, Computer Science and Engineering, Structural Engineering, Power Systems and Power Electronics, Electronics and Communication (Communication System Engineering) and Heat Power and Thermal Engineering were also awarded their degrees.
Speaking as the Chief Guest at the first session on the first day, Mr. Amit Kumar, Programme Director, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), urged the graduates to embrace continuous learning and practice punctuality and humility as they were poised to enter professional life.
Receiving a degree should not be considered the end of education, he said adding it should be the beginning of life-long learning. Referring to inspiring teachings of former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and quoting the Bhagavad Gita, he encouraged the graduates to remain committed to learning and personal growth.
In the second session, Ms. Saswati Pandab, Vice-President, Human Resources, GyanSys, graced the occasion as the chief guest. She advised the graduates not to focus only on academic scores but cultivate a mindset of lifelong learning. In an era driven by artificial intelligence, digital technology and global collaboration, she said, the ability to continuously learn and adapt would be a key determinant of their future success.
SOA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda, who presided over the program and administered the graduation oath, conferred degrees on the students and wished them a bright future. He said the graduates of SOA should take pride in being associated with an institution ranked among the top universities in the country.
“Every student is a matter of pride and honour for our university. Whether they are current students or alumni, they should remain connected with SOA,” Prof. Nanda said.
Emphasising SOA’s focus on research and development, he said graduates would have opportunities to pursue research at various institutions of the university. He urged them to use the knowledge and skills acquired during their education for the benefit of society.
Prof. Pradip Kumar Sahu, Dean, ITER, highlighted the institute’s emphasis on research and said work was being undertaken in 18 important areas. He called upon the graduates to work hard and remain committed to establishing themselves in their chosen fields.
Prof. Renu Sharma, Additional Dean (Student Affairs), ITER, delivered the welcome address during the first session, while Prof. Dhirendra Nath Thatoi, Additional Dean (Academic), ITER, welcomed the guests and students during the second session.

On the first day, SOA Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. P.K. Patra, Controller of Examination Prof. Manjula Das and Dean, Students Welfare, Prof. Jyoti Ranjan Das, were present.
On the second day, Mr. Bibhu Panda, Centre Head, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Bhubaneswar, attended the first session as chief guest, while Mr. Bikash Panigrahi, Director, Engineering AI and Data, Deloitte India, Bhubaneswar, graced the second session as the chief guest.
During the first session on the second day, SOA Vice-Chancellor Prof. P.K. Patra presided over the programme and administered the oath to the graduating students. He said that the degrees were the outcome of the students’ hard work, dedication, discipline and punctuality, along with the support and guidance extended by their teachers and parents.
In the second session, SOA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda administered the oath to the students and conferred the degrees upon them.
SOA Dean, Student Welfare, Prof. Jyoti Ranjan Das, ITER Additional Dean (Academics) Prof. Dhirendra Nath Thatoi, Controller of Examinations Prof. Manjula Das, along with Heads of various departments, faculty members and staff, were present on the occasion. ITER Additional Dean (Student Affairs) Prof. Renu Sharma delivered the welcome address.
