- Providing essential healthcare services and medicines free of cost.
- Over 1.7 lakh people benefited across 5 districts.
Baleswar, 24th April 2026: TP Northern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL) continues to prioritize its social responsibility alongside its core mission of providing quality power supply to consumers. The company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives have taken a significant lead in improving rural lives, specifically through its Mobile Health Dispensaries. These mobile health units have emerged as a “boon” for the public, providing free medical consultations and medicines to over 1,70,000 people over the past few years.
To ensure the delivery of free healthcare, TPNODL has deployed mobile ambulances catering to electricity consumers in the districts of Balasore, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Bhadrak and Mayurbhanj. With one dedicated mobile ambulance for each of the five districts, the initiative has successfully organized more than 1,300 health camps to date. These ambulances travel to tribal, remote, and rural areas to conduct health check-ups and provide essential medical services at no cost to the residents. Each mobile unit is fully equipped with necessary medical equipment and essential drugs, staffed by a professional team including a doctor, a pharmacist and an ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwife).
Beyond treatment, these mobile units play a crucial role in spreading health awareness among the rural population. The experienced medical teams visit various Panchayats to conduct screenings and the entire process including the distribution of free medicines is executed in close coordination with local Sarpanchs to ensure maximum outreach.
TPNODL’s commitment to CSR extends well beyond healthcare. The organization has launched several impactful programs, including educational initiatives for underprivileged children, literacy programs for women and various skill development modules aimed at making the youth self-reliant. Through six dedicated Skill Development Centers established across five districts, nearly 3,000 youth have received training and secured employment opportunities in various multinational companies. Furthermore, TPNODL has been instrumental in empowering women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) by providing training in tailoring, beauty care and other vocational skills. Notably, the ‘Adhikar’ program, designed to educate citizens about various government schemes and their rights, has gained widespread appreciation and popularity among the public.
