World Environment Day 2026 Celebrated at NLC India Limited, Talabira Thermal Power Project

Jharsuguda: NLC India Limited, Talabira Thermal Power Project (NTTPP), celebrated World Environment Day 2026 with enthusiasm and a strong commitment towards environmental sustainability. A plantation drive was organized in front of the Community Centre at the R&R Colony, Hirma as part of the observance.
The programme was inaugurated by Shri Santhosh C. S, Executive Director/Project Head, NTTPP, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event was conducted in the presence of Shri K. Arivazhagan, General Manager (Project), Shri R. K. Pandey, General Manager (Electrical/Land), Shri Sharath Chandra Behera, Deputy General Manager (HR), and other senior executives of the project.
The dignitaries emphasized the importance of environmental conservation and the collective responsibility of every individual in protecting natural resources for future generations. They highlighted the significance of this year’s World Environment Day theme, “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future.”, and called upon all stakeholders to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives. As a continuation of the plantation drive a total number of 5000 trees will be planted at various location during monsoon 2026.


A large number of employees and contract workers participated in the plantation drive and planted saplings to promote a greener and healthier environment. An environmental pledge was also administered, reaffirming the commitment of participants towards environmental protection, pollution control, conservation of natural resources, and sustainable development.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from employees and community members, reflecting NLC India Limited’s continued dedication to environmental stewardship and sustainable growth.
