Sanskrit Week Celebration Inaugurated at DAV Campus

Jharsuguda, 24/08/2026: A week-long Sanskrit Week was inaugurated today with great enthusiasm and fervour at DAV Public School, Jharsuguda. The primary objective of the programme is to foster students’ interest in Sanskrit, the carrier of ancient Indian knowledge, culture, traditions and values. During the inaugural programme, the Principal of the school, Laxmi Kanta Debta, addressed the teachers and students highlighting the significance of Sanskrit and its relevance in the modern era. He expressed that Sanskrit is not merely an ancient language but also an important foundation of India’s rich knowledge, tradition, philosophy, literature and scientific thought. A variety of activities have been planned to be conducted throughout the week, including Sanskrit Shloka Recitation,Thoughts, Elocution, Essay Writing, The Gita Values, Quiz, Sanskrit Songs and other creative competitions. The school hopes that these activities will enhance the students’ linguistic skills and creativity while nurturing a sense of pride in Indian culture and heritage. Senior teacher Akshaya Pani coordinated the programme, while Stuti Mohapatra expressed her views on the importance and relevance of Sanskrit. Students including Ashwini Kumar Jha, Shivom Debta, Arohi Kirtiwar Ishita Awasthy, Harshita Tiwari, Ansh Raj and Ritisha Bhattar conducted various segments of the assembly entirely in Sanskrit. They presented the proceedings, prayer, oath, thought for the day, Gayatri Mantra and news reading in Sanskrit, making the inaugural programme truly meaningful and reflective of the spirit of Sanskrit Week.
